Virtual Reality Revolution w/ Alan Smithson - CEO/Co-Founder of MetaVRse
Always a forward thinker, Alan Smithson became the entrepreneur he is today by generating big ideas, anticipating what’s next, and executing with clarity. Smithson is the CEO and co-founder of MetaVRse, a virtual-reality marketing agency.
His entrepreneurial journey began as a Professional DJ to supplement his income during university. From there, the entrepreneurial bug had him and he knew he was destined to do his own thing, rather than work for somebody else.
“If you’re going to put that much effort into work…why not use that energy to do something for yourself”
He went on to become the co-founder of SmithsonMartin Inc., and inventor of Emulator, a fully integrated audio and visual performance system for DJ’s that won the coveted DJ Mag Innovative Product of the Year for 2011. With innovation on his mind and the future in his sights, the realm of virtual reality was a seamless transition.
“VR is going to touch every part of your life”
Now at MetaVRse, founded in 2016, the mission is to show the world the future. The company produces custom content, creates marketing initiatives and participates in corporate events to introduce and promote the virtues of VR.
Along with MetaVRse, Alan is also incredibly proud of his 11-year-old daughter, Abi Smithson, who designed Love Sandal and is the CEO of Made By Abi Inc., which has already sold over 11,000 Love Sandals worldwide. Visit lovesandal.com
Alan is very much an advocate of mentorship; one of his life goals is to train one million kids to align their passions with their work and to cultivate their ability to create something out of nothing.
Metavrse is a Virtual Reality experience and event company. We provide technology fans and the “tech-curious” with access to the most cutting edge technology (often before it is available to the public) through expertly facilitated events.
Metavrse is currently seeking partners to collaborate on a series of VR themed events leading up to the grand opening of Canada’s first Virtual/Augmented Reality experience centre.
