Zero To Startup w/ David Kwok - Co-Founder of ZeroToStartup

David Kwok is a recent graduate of Ryerson University’s Ted Rogers School of Business Management, completing a Double Major in Marketing & Entrepreneurship and Strategy. He also received a certificate in Design Thinking through the Academic Program for Entrepreneurship (APE) through the StraschegCenter for Entrepreneurship at Munich University of Applied Sciences in Germany.

While studying, David found his love for community programming and social entrepreneurship after leading the SAGE (Students for the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship) Canada team, and being an integral part of the 2013 Enactus Canada National Championship team competing against over 60 university and college campuses. Through this work, he was able to develop and lead various youth educational and entrepreneurship programs both locally and globally (Dago, Western Kenya).

Upon graduation, he co-founded his own educational startup known as ZerotoStartup. ZerotoStartup is a non-profit organization that mainly engages youth 12 – 17 to explore their creativity by providing personal branding, technology and entrepreneurship skills training to help them go past ideation and into the prototyping phase. By the end of our 13 week program, youth would have worked in teams, built a functioning prototype for their business venture, and pitch in front of industry professionals.

Prior to this venture, David was a Tours and Business Development Associate at the DMZ, the top Canadian University based incubator. In this role, David was responsible for coordinating and leading tours that would bring value to over 80 companies that are incubated at the DMZ. He assisted in the development of events such as Industry and Investor Nights to bring together investors and startups to create long lasting relationships.

ZerotoStartup, a program based at Ryerson University and business firm Celestica, offers a class to teach youths useful skills to make it in the technology world.
